About Us
American Schoolhouse Academy
Our Story
American Schoolhouse Academy is part of the legacy of our founder’s grandfather, Arch Gainer, who taught in two of them in the small Texas towns of Doole and Pontonoc in the 1930’s during the Depression. One of seven children, he inherited his passion for education from his parents who built their own small homestead and worked to send all seven of their children to college at a time when only 12 % of the population in these towns graduated from high school.
After graduating from Texas Tech with a degree in mathematics, Arch chose to return to the area where he grew up to ensure it provided access to education. While these small community schools which dotted America’s landscape from the early 1800s eventually disappeared following WWII, Arch’s passion for education lives in all the parents who continue to pursue our country’s heritage of providing excellent education to the next generation.
